Last night, on Blizzcon 2013, Blizzard announced the fifth (and final?) expansion for World of Warcraft, called ”Warlords of Draenor”. This expansion will allow us to visit Draenor, the homeplanet of the orcs (and also kinda of the Draenei).
Some of you might be thinking… but Outland is Draenor, or at least it was. And thats right. Outland and Draenor are the same place. So we are going back…. in time. Sit down and listen. (Spoilers ahead)
The Warlords of Draenor (WoD) storyline has already been set in motion ingame. On the timeless isle, a weekly quest asks you to collect 50 epoch stones, after which you witness a short vision in time. At first, the visions seem to be of the Siege of Ogrimmar. But the last visions show the corpses of Vol’jin, Thrall,.. hanging on wooden stakes outside Ogrimmar and another vision shows you a dragon dieing or being slain in the caverns of time.
Appearantly Garrosh, after being defeated and facing judgement on Pandaria, is able to escape (based on the visions he is helped by Anduin Wrynn, son of King Varian Wrynn). He will somehow use the powers of the Keepers of Time and the Dark Portal, to travel back in time, to Draenor, before the Orc clans drank the blood of Mannoroth. Its this blood, which corrupted the orcisch race and became minions of the Burning Legion. Garrosh wants to prevent this from happening and become the leader of a pure, uncorrupted Orc army.
And thats where we come in. Using the same Dark Portal, the players will also be able to travel back in time and meet up with famous orc clean leaders like Durotan (leader of the Frostwolf clan), Gul’dan or Grommash Hellscream (father of … Garrosh)
